Geothermal is one of the most complete and durable HVAC solutions available. However, in all of John Giles’ 60 years working in the Chattanooga HVAC industry, it has not been the most common installation. There’s a reason for that—it takes special drilling and costs more upfront than a regular system. But at Scenic Air Solutions, we think it’s worth it, especially if you’re building your dream home. Here’s why.

Why It’s Not Everywhere

Most HVAC companies around here stick to standard air conditioners or heat pumps. Geothermal’s different—it needs someone who knows how to drill into the ground and set it up right, and that’s not something every shop can do. Plus, the price tag to get started is higher because of that drilling. In John’s experience, though, what you pay extra now pays off later. Geothermal uses less energy, lasts longer, and doesn’t need fixing as often. It’s quiet, too—no loud buzzing outside your window. For a home in Chattanooga, where summers are hot and winters can bite, it’s tough to find a better setup.

How We Make It Work

Here’s the simple version: we drill down into the earth—anywhere from 100 to 400 feet, depending on your lot—and put in a loop of pipes. Those pipes carry a fluid that grabs the ground’s steady heat in winter or dumps extra heat in summer. A heat pump inside your house takes it from there, keeping things warm or cool. The ground stays around 55°F year-round here, so you’re not fighting the weather like a regular system does. That’s why it’s so efficient—it’s like the earth’s doing half the work for you.

Perfect for Your Dream Home

If you’re building a new house, geothermal makes even more sense. You’ve already got equipment on-site digging for the foundation—adding our drilling isn’t a big leap. John’s been designing custom HVAC for Chattanooga homes for nearly 60 years, and he’s seen how starting fresh with geothermal sets you up right. You get a system that’s top-notch from day one—low bills, long life, and comfort that’s hard to beat.

At Scenic Air Solutions, we’re one of the few around here who can handle geothermal. With John’s know-how, we’ve got the skills to unlock the earth’s stable comfort for your home. If you’re planning that dream build, come talk to us about making it happen.
